Fourth
of July Party IdeasUncle Sam/Yankee Doodle
Party
Invitations:
Get a digital copy of the Uncle Sam "I Want You" poster. Make
enough copies for all the people you are inviting. On the back write
"to come to our Fourth of July Party" and give the information about
the location and time.
Decorations:
Decorate with Uncle Sam Posters and cartoons, hats with feathers in
them, and lots of red, white and blue.
Games:
Uncle Sam Dress Up Relay
Get a top hat, white beard, blue jacket or shirt, red bow tie and a
bell for each team. Have the teams line up, put the clothes at the
beginning of each line and put a bell about 20 feet away from the
line. Each player must put on all the clothes run to the bell ring it,
then replace the bell and run back remove the clothes and let the next
person go. The first team to finish wins.
Yankee Doodles hat
Another fun game is pin the feather in Yankee Doodles hat. Draw a
large hat, and make "feathers" out of paper. Then blindfold the
player, spin him around and let him try and get the feather in the
right place.
Craft:
Let everyone decorate their own top hat. Top hats can be found at
most craft stores, especially close to the fourth. If the top hats are
plastic provide everyone with glue, glitter and construction paper. If
the top hats are made of paper you can also provide markers.
Food:
Think red, white and blue everything. Make star shaped sugar
cookies and decorate them with red, white and blue frosting. Have red
punch with blueberries in it. Vanilla ice cream with berry sorbet and
star shaped sprinkles will also be a hit.
